Review Asus ZenBook Pro 15

As long as technology continues to be around, then innovation has been the name of the game. In 2018, he is set around the 'Game' display. We already have handheld devices with more screen-to-body ratio and 90 Hz AMOLED screen (Asus ROG phone) and what not to see. But when we talk about big screen computing machines like laptops, then the same innovation has not been compared to the handheld. Perhaps Asus is an exception because it appears on a path to install new standards in terms of screen innovation in laptops. Of course, we are talking about the recently launched Asus Genebook Pro 15. At the beginning of this year, Computex 2018 is owned and ready to be the owner of the premium Indian laptop market. The review unit we got is Rs 2,09,99 and the Intel Core i9 processor, touchscreen, UHD display and Nvidia GeForce GPU are the top of the line line line. Since OEM is still aware, India is a tough market for premium equipment. Viewers are specific and the competition is aggressive in each section. As Mark Twain once said, "The man with a new thought is a crank - unless it succeeds". So is a new idea a "crank" or is it successful in cutting the rest on the rest? We have been using new laptops for the past few days, here's our Asus GenBook Pro 15 (UX 580G) review.

Design

In the case of Asus GenBook Pro 15, the beauty lies in the customer's eyes. Being 'Asylum' Asus, Genbuku Pro 15 (UX580G) hovers the construction of aluminum with concentrated hairline circles, which has been making uniforms in various Asus products for some years. The unit we got to review was the Royal Blue color version, which looks elegant with a premium-ness pinch. The laptop is a bit of a mist and a fingerprint magnet but you will not need to clean it often. The texture remains inside the keyboard area as well.

The 'premium-ness pinch' we were talking about, which runs through the edges of the golden metal strip. Asus calls it 'Rose Gold Diamond Cut Chamber Edge'. The 15-inch model is not the slimmest (1.89 cm) but still worth appreciating because it has another screen on the touchpad. Total footprint, however, is higher than other premium laptops coming from Dell and HP in their XPS and Specter brands. It weighs 1.8 kg, anything can stay together.

Since it is not paper-thin, the JenBook Pro 3.5mm headphones slot, 2 type-c USB 3.1 Jen2 (Thunderbolt), 2 Type-A USB 3.1, Jane 1, HDM and MicroSD manage to bring some connectivity features on the board. is. card reader. The only missing thing is the LAN port but you get USB for LAN port converter inside the box, so there is no problem on that front.

Coming on the keyboard, it is quite comfortable to work. Going from a premium laptop or even a mid-range to ZenBook Pro 15 would hardly be a problem. The backlit key has good travel time and is well away. While typing, you will find enough space on either side of the screenplay, below the keyboard area to relax your palm.

However, the screenplay (more on that later) is slightly larger than your normal touchpad in the laptop, so you can often brush your hands against the edges of the screen, which results in unexpected cursor movement and clicks. What you can find here is that the volume and screen brightness buttons are configured as default, so you do not need to always press the function key.

Downstairs, you get a plain look with two speakers on both sides. There is also four rubber lid on the corners to keep the ZenBook Pro 15 above the surface for a few millimeters.

Due to simplicity and premium-ness mix, the overall design language influenced us at a certain level. Metal is attractive and it is quite easy to use the keyboard. The 15-inch model is definitely not the lightest in the segment but it is still lighter and more portable than some others. But what about performance?

Display

The display area is something that is not as weak as some other premium laptops but it is still effective how well it handles color, brightness, and contrast. You will find noticeable bezel on each side. Still, the Asus called it 'nano age' bezel, which is 7.3 mm thick. The 15.6-inch 4 UHD screen provides a crisp and well-balanced material for viewing. There is 1200: 1 contrast ratio, which is definitely not normal with the laptop with 400 nights brightness, so that working under the sun is not tense on your eyes. Apart from this, the viewing angles are good with this. Asus has claimed the ZenBook Pro 15 for a detailed angle scene of 178 degrees.

Asus has also expanded its performance optimization in Genebook Pro 15. Here you get a bunch of software tweaks for the display. These not only include express splendid display.

Asus has also expanded its performance optimization in Genebook Pro 15. Here you get a bunch of software tweaks for the display. These not only include express splendid display technology but also color temperature settings and color game management. If you are an Asus laptop or smartphone owner, then the term 'splendid' display technology should ring the bell. For starters, this is a software to customize the viewing experience because it gives you the option of changing the four different ways to see, colors, contrast and the brightness of each.

You will not be able to look forward to color temperature correction which changes to pre-set to show a more accurate color. This color shows closer to real life colors with game management. In addition, the top-end model (which we reviewed) has been certified, Pantone. So there is absolutely no complaint.

Performance

Jen book Pro 15 can be called full powerhouse in terms of performance. It does not have the most powerful computing processor, but it also has an impressive GPU and memory to complement it. The device is definitely a 'premium' laptop, so any CPUs, GPUs, and storage can expect the best combination. The unit we reviewed was powered by the Intel Core i9-8950HK processor. This makes ZenBOOK Pro 15 something to bring to this processor in the country. Apart from this powerful processor, what you get is 16GB DDR4 (2400 MHz) RAM and 1 TB NVME PCI Gen 3 x 4 M2 SSD. With 4GB dedicated memory, all this topping is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, which is not a bad set of facilities on laptops. While looking stylish, they work together to load the heaviest of the animation and load. Though the laptop is not specifically targeted at gamers, it can still play some heavy titles at maximum settings. Playing videos on Adobe Premiere Pro, browsing on many tabs, playing videos of 4 and more should have a breeze with ZenBook Pro 15.

However, one of the major drawbacks we saw during heavy or even day-to-day use was that the GenBook Pro 15 was surprisingly warm around the center of the keyboard area. Playing video or playing video while charging it for a long time or playing, you can feel the device warm enough. However, the vents are deftly placed underneath the screen thing, making it difficult to move.

Speaking about the cooling system, Asus has incorporated a dual fan system to beat the heat coming from Intel and Nvidia processors. In addition, the firm said that it had to redesign the battery module to fit a 2mm thick Screenpad in a limited area.

Some of the performance credits also go to the operating system, with which we all are almost familiar. Windows 10 brings Windows Hello certification as well as its own set of features. As an additional security layer, you also get a fingerprint sensor on the right side of the Screenpad. Asus also has a suite of pre-installed apps in ZenBook Pro 15, including Anus Keyboard Hotkey, Asus Giftbox and more.

The Audio Department has been given special attention in GenBook Pro 15 and it is really impressive. Laptop Hermann Curdon uses tuned audio which is extracted using the realtac speaker, a combination which provides a strong yet clear audio. Distortion is well-handled and music is rich in different styles. Asus says that the laptop has a smart amplifier that provides the maximum amount without damaging the speakers. Apart from the company's Sonic master audio technology, it works amazingly in the audio department, making it a great multimedia device.

So now when we explain the performance and operating system, what remains to talk about length, this is a new and an 'innovative' screenpad.

Powerful 'screenpad'

Review Asus ZenBook Pro 15

As we said above - innovation is the name of the game and when it comes to laptops, Asas appears on top of it. When you open ZenBOOK Pro 15 you can see it immediately. While OEMs are working on reducing their premium laptops and filling huge specs in them, Asas has taken a bold approach here and brought something that we can say is actually 'new in laptops in 2018'.

The new 'screenpad' does not fit into a specific touchpad with just the customizable wallpaper, but it is a real second screen that can open the app on the main screen, play music and even YouTube videos play. Maybe. So if you want to see those weird cat videos or binges, watch a series on Netflix while in office, it just makes it easy.

But apart from this, it is definitely a productive tool. It's a work-specific, something with the Apple MacBook Pro's touch bar, but in the 5.5-inch full HD IPS + screen form. When you boot a new device, it shows you all the initial content while explaining all the features.

Just you know, ScreenPad has a dedicated launcher that can be accessed by swiping a smile

Battery

GenBook Pro 15 There is no doubt about the most powerful laptop around this time. Along with this, Asas has been able to provide a decent performance with a good processing performance and attractive design. However, like others, this is not the perfect laptop and we are saying this because better battery performance was expected.

Review Asus ZenBook Pro 15

In seven days of testing the premium laptop, our GenBook Pro 15 unit spread to maximum of 6 hours. Including minimal browsing, video streaming for about one hour, light access to continuous Wi-Fi connectivity and screenpad. By using it as our daily driver, working on many chrome tabs, editing photos and videos and more, the device gave us an average of 4-5 hours.

It is understood to have the power needed to run heavy machinery. Also, the device is not suitable for moving around and does not require a great battery backup. But it is certain that the customers do not want to demand value. Asus claims to have released Zenbook Pro 15 71Whrs 8-Cell Lithium Polymer Battery to play. But then, the work gets heavy, more battery gets out. So this depends on the usage level.

Decision

Asus, as we have said above, has taken a bold step with Zenbook Pro 15 this year. The laptop is definitely an animal in terms of specifications and features, but when we talk about its most highlights feature-screenpad, then still a lot to be done. Someone can say that now there is limited access to it and given that it is really an embedded smartphone in a laptop, the room for improvement is very high. But still, what has so far been enough to be known as the most productive tool on any laptop. We still do not have to see what kind of feedback the device will receive in the market. However, this is definitely something innovative and what can be said as something outside the box.

There is no shortage of laptops except the minor heating issue faced during heavy use. But everything, the laptop is definitely certain to see something. Asus GenBook Pro 15 can be of an interest of Rs 2,09,990, which can think twice before users spend. This is because if someone wants a heavy-duty device, at the given price, hard competition can come directly from the Apple MacBook Pro laptop. In addition, the ZenBook Pro 15 market is not a proven device, yet it is always a risk factor, especially in India. Let's see how well Asas plays on the idea of 'innovation'.
